Course Descriptions and Enrollment 

Denver Spanish Network offers a variety of study options in all levels, from beginner to advanced, and all forms from private tutoring  to group lessons. Once you are enrolled in a course, you can attend multiple classes each week and/or move freely between the levels as your needs change.

Level 1
Standard Program | Weekly 90 minute Classes | Free Textbook

This course covers Unit 1 of the Denver Spanish Network textbook. 

Topics include basic conversation such as common greetings, pronunciation and alphabet, articles, subject pronouns, and the verb ser. Cognates are introduced as a stepping stone to vocabulary and conversation building. At the end of this course, students will be able to introduce themselves, have a basic conversation including where they are from, their careers and basic emotions, and describe people and things. 

Recommended for students who have never taken a Spanish course in the past.

Level 2
Standard Program | Weekly 90 minute Classes | Free Textbook  

This course covers Unit 2 of the Denver Spanish Network textbook. 

Topics include colors, numbers, possessive adjectives, the verb estar, when to use the verbs ser and estar, times and dates, and describing people. At the end of this course, students will be able to identify and speak about professions, times and dates, origins, relations, emotions, locations and conditions.

Level 4

These courses are taught primarily in Spanish. They covers adverbs, hace with expressions of time,  demonstrative adjectives and pronouns, the preterite tense, and a conversational, all Spanish review of the present progressive, TENER expressions, direct and indirect objects, and prepositions. This course takes three quarters to complete, and is divided into Part I (Chapters 4-5,) Part II (Chapter 6) and Part III (Chapter 7)

Level 5
Standard Program | Weekly 90 minute Classes | Free Textbook 
These courses are taught primarily in Spanish. They cover the use of the preterite and imperfect tenses, comparisons of (in)equalities, the superlative, double object pronouns, an introduction to the subjunctive, relative pronouns, and an expansion on the uses of POR and PARA. This course takes four quarters to complete, and is divided into Part I (Chapter 8,) Part II (Chapters 9 and 10) and Part III (Chapter 11.)

These courses are taught primarily in Spanish. They covers the subjunctive in adjective clauses, stressed possessive adjectives, affirmative and negative expressions, the subjunctive with expressions of doubt, the conditional, reciprocal verbs and pronouns, adverbial conjunctions that require the subjunctive, the past perfect, the infinitive as subject or object, the imperfect subjunctive, if clauses, and the impersonal SE. An upper level review of possessive pronouns and the preterite and imperfect is also provided.

After School Science in Spanish
Program for children grades K-5 | Weekly 60 minute classes
This is a Spanish experience that combines literacy, Spanish and Science in a one hour class full of fun, hands-on experiments! 

 

$25/class or $200 for all 10 classs
Private Tutoring
Join one of our experienced tutors for a private session! Use this time for one-on-one instruction as an adult or high school/college student or to prepare yourself for a higher level class. Also available as a private class for families. Discounted packages available!

 

$60/hour
